PORA phasing out adult education

The Property Owners and Residents Association of Sun City West Governing Board voted to phase out the PORA Adult Learning Program at the end of the spring 2019 term.

Larry Woods, PORA board president, said changing times brought about the decision.

“When PAL was started in the early 2000’s it was one of the few adult education programs available to Sun City West Residents,” Mr. Woods said. “The program has operated at a deficit for the last few years and we can’t afford to continue operating in this manner.”

Mr. Woods cited several other sites offering classes in the community.

“Regretfully we have had to make the decision to phase out the present program although we continue to be open to potential future educational options,” Mr. Woods said. “PORA will continue to focus on our mission, which is advocacy for the residents of Sun City West.”
