Juveniles caught driving 150 mph along Loop 101

Highway officials have taken two juveniles into custody this afternoon after they were caught speeding in excess of 150 mph, according to a spokesman.

The incident happened before 3 p.m. Oct. 11 along southbound Agua Fria Loop 101. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a stolen vehicle struck a wall on the freeway near Bell Road.

Two juveniles fled from the vehicle on foot, according to DPS.

Officials took both into custody following a short foot pursuit.

It is unknown where the vehicle was stolen.

DPS continues to investigate.
