Registration is now open for Glendale’s youth basketball leagues for girls and boys ages 5-10. Practices begin the week of Monday, Feb. 11 and the season will be played on Saturdays from March 2 – April 20.
League fees are $55 for Glendale residents and $75 for nonresidents. Those who register online before Monday, Dec. 31 will receive a 10 percent discount. Any registrations after Saturday, Jan. 19 will receive a $10 late fee, and the final day to register will be Friday, Jan. 25. Scholarships are available for those who qualify.
Participants will receive a team shirt, play in up to eight games and receive a participation award.
Children will be split into three divisions based on their age and gender. Boys and girls ages 5-7 will play in the coed Pee Wee division. Boys 8-10 will play in the Mini Mites division and girls 8-10 will play in the Rookies division. If the two 8-10 divisions do not have enough players, they may be combined into one coed division.
Adult volunteers are also needed to coach the teams. Practices, which will be set by each team’s coach, can be held any time during the hours of 5:30-8:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, no more than twice per week.
