County air quality app reaches milestone

The Maricopa County Air Quality Department’s Clean Air Make More mobile application has been downloaded more than 40,000 times.

The free application provides Maricopa County residents with real-time air quality information, forecasts, restrictions and the ability to report violations.

The AQ Department developed to app to reach the more mobile audience, increasing awareness and educating the county’s residents.

The latest version has been updated to provide better interactivity with detailed tips and restriction information about Health Watches and High Pollution Advisories.

The Clean Air Make More app features:

  • Real-time air quality information and detailed air pollution statistics, including ozone, carbon monoxide, PM-10 and PM 2.5 levels
  • Air quality index levels (good, moderate, unhealthy for sensitive groups, unhealthy, very unhealthy and hazardous) and definitions
  • Real-time air quality updates on restrictions (wood burning, leaf blower use, off-road vehicle use)
  • “Report a violation” option, similar to what is found on CleanAirMakeMore.com, where users can report an air quality violation or a smoking
