Linda Palles Thompson

Palles Thompson’s agreement runs through June 30, 2020

Peoria Unified School District Superintendent Linda Palles Thompson will continue in her position for another year, or until the search for a new superintendent is completed.

She signed her most recent contract this month, which begins July 1, and will expire June 30, 2020.

Ms. Palles Thompson will receive an annual base salary of $198,144, plus the same percentage increase, if any, as is received by other certificated district administrators for fiscal year 2019-2020.

The contract allows for up to a 5 percent bonus in addition to the annual base salary, at a maximum of $9,900.

Performance-based compensation goals and benchmarks may be assessed by the governing board and must be approved no later than Aug. 31.

The contract allows for a $600 per month automobile expense account. The cost of insurance, maintenance, oil, licensing, liability insurance, and all other expenses relating to the operation of the automobile will be the superintendent’s responsibility.

The contract also allows for $3,000 for civic responsibilities to  establish  business,  professional  and  social  contacts in the  community

Additionally, the governing board may terminate the contract with or without cause, by paying to the superintendent an amount equal to the remaining annual base salary, performance-based compensation, unused vacation and discretionary days, and tax-sheltered annuities contributions, according to the contract.
