Erickson to step down June 30

Guy Erickson, president/CEO of the Peoria Chamber of Commerce, announced his intent to retire at the end of the fiscal year, June 30.

He announced his retirement in a letter sent to the chamber board of directors: “This has been a very difficult decision as I truly love working for the chamber … This has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.”

Mr. Erickson has been an integral part of the growth and success of the chamber over the past several years, according to a news release.

His leadership has been a guiding force, and the chamber is in a strong position as it moves forward into an exciting future, the release stated.

Although he has announced his retirement there are still several projects, events and milestones that will keep him busy throughout this transition.

The chamber board of directors thanked Mr. Erickson for his passion for the chamber and his focus on its success.
