Surprise McTeacher’s Challenge nets $4,325

Litchfield-Waddell restaurant helps raise money for local schools

Posted

Surprise’s Litchfield and Waddell McDonald’s restaurant raised more than $4,325 for local schools during its annual McTeacher’s Night Challenge in February.

To safely serve the community, the McTeacher’s Night was a drive thru and mobile ordering only event with a portion of the sales during the two-hour period benefiting each school.

Nine elementary schools participated in the Northwest Valley McTeacher’s Night Challenge, including: Marley Park, Sonoran Heights, West Point, Ashton Ranch, Arizona Charter Academy, Legacy Traditional, Rancho Gabriela, Surprise Elementary and Thompson Ranch.

Legacy Traditional School–Surprise Campus placed first in the “McTeacher’s Night Challenge” receiving an additional $500 donation for a total of $975. Arizona Charter Academy placed second, receiving an additional $250 donation for a total of $700.

“We were delighted to host a safe fundraising opportunity with drive thru and mobile ordering to help our local schools raise money, especially during this challenging time of the pandemic,” said Chris Carney, McDonald’s owner. “Our Litchfield and Waddell McDonald’s takes great pride in giving back to the Surprise community.”
