Surprise fire house to get water damage fixes

Posted

Surprise Fire Station 303 at 15440 N. Cotton Lane is in line to receive some upgrades after receiving significant water damage.

The city council on April 2 agreed to spend $825,000 on  plumbing fixes.

City officials were hoping to fix the problem next year, but the presence of mold is forcing them to make the repairs now.

Other upgrades will include bringing the station’s communications room up to standards.

Council voted to move $625,000 from general contingency and $200,000 from savings from another project in the general capital projects fund.
