The city of Surprise wants residents to show community pride by participating in the seventh annual Bean Bag Day event on Saturday, April 20.
In celebration of National Volunteer Week, Seeds of Hope International Ministries has purchased 6,000 pounds of dry pinto beans for the annual Bean Bag Day event.
Participants can help bag bulk pinto beans into individual packages for ease of distribution to those in need through the Valley View Community Food Bank.
The event is from 9 a.m. to noon at Freedom Traditional Academy, 16066 N. Parkview Place.
Registration is required to volunteer. Individuals and groups can pre-register for this event at surpriseaz.gov/DOSVolunteer.
