Robert H. Bailey

Robert was born on January 3, 1944, in Mt Clemens, Michigan, to Ella Barbara Tock and Marlin Nelson Bailey.
We lovingly remember Robert Bailey, who leaves behind a legacy of warmth, wisdom, and generosity. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sally, and their children, Carolyn Bailey (Greg Cissell) and Michael Bailey (Amy). Robert was a cherished grandfather to Ella Durbin, Amanda Durbin, Parker Bailey, and Gavin Bailey. He also leaves behind his dear brother Dr. Thomas T. Bailey (Judy), and was a caring uncle, great uncle and admired father figure to many. He joins his parents and older brother John M. Bailey in eternal peace.
A proud alumnus of Mt. Clemens High School, Class of 1962, Robert furthered his education at Michigan State University. He started his career as an engineer at Continental Motors and later found his calling as a thoughtful and successful insurance professional and business owner. Known for his sage and plentiful advice on any topic, Robert’s engineering mindset made him the family’s go-to fixer of all things.
An avid outdoorsman, Robert had a true passion for upland bird hunting and fishing in the rivers and Great Lakes of Michigan. His volunteer spirit shone brightly as a youth soccer coach for the RYSL from its inaugural season, celebrating his team’s journey to the Pontiac Silver Dome with immense pride. Robert also dedicated himself to the Kiwanis Clubs of Rochester, MI, and Fountain Hills, AZ, where he tirelessly raised funds for local schools. His positive influence was felt at every event, always ready to build a float with the Marian High School Senior girls, carry supplies, sell fry bread, and build relationships with Habitat for Humanity (AZ). He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and admiration.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at Harry’s Tavern 21200 MO-161, Bowling Green, MO. The Family Memorial will be held from 10-11am followed by Family & Friends luncheon from 11am-2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Robert H. Bailey to Tunnels for Towers noting the Homeless Veterans Program www.t2t.org.
