Firefighter paramedic Nick Haney released the following statement regarding the Surprise City Council election results:

“Thank you! I am honored and overwhelmed by the support I have received from the voters of Surprise and look forward to the opportunity to serve the community where my family moved more than twenty years ago. I could not have done this without my amazing wife, my rock, Nicole, and my family who supported me every step of the way.”

“I also must thank the FireFighters, Police Officers, and the significant number of current and former elected officials and community leaders who supported my campaign. I deeply appreciate their support and faith in my vision for a safe, family friendly city that can keep up with growth.”

“Finally, I must thank everyone who donated, supported, and walked for my campaign – especially my brothers and sisters in public safety who volunteered countless hours of their time to help me succeed. We knocked on thousands of doors and talked to hundreds of neighbors regularly from the start of the campaign through Election Day. Their hard work paid off and I owe my success to them.”

“This is my hometown – my grandparents live in my district, and multiple generations of my family call Surprise home. This is the city where my wife and I chose to buy our first home, and we intend to raise our future family here as well. I am excited to bring a fresh perspective to the city council and serve this community that has given me so much.”
