Families getting into WHAM action

WHAM Art Center, 16560 N. Dysart Road, starts March with several classes.

• The next of the “WHAM Nights” Family Paint Party — Paint Night With A Twist is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 5, and the topic is “When Spring Comes Round.”
This fun, family evening features painting, art trivia, raffle prizes, beverages and snacks. Snacks and drinks are welcome. Supplies are provided.

Cost is $25 per non-member and $15 per member. Proceeds will benefit the WHAM Kids Art Programs.

• The next WHAM Mini Workshop for Adults (suitable for ages 16 and older) is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6. The subject is Triptych Acrylic Painting “Sunrise.”

Attendees will come away with tips, ideas and additional skills to advance personal artworks or simply gain the experience of enjoying the arts in a fun and relaxing environment.

Each workshop is taught by a professional artist bringing a variety of mediums and skill level to the classroom.This workshop is $35.

• WHAM Kids First Saturday of the month arts and crafts (ages 8 to 12), an Apples for Art program. The class is from 1 to 3 p.m. March 6. This month’s theme is “Fairy Wands & Wings.”

Each class will be instructed by a Professional Artist at WHAM and an occasional guest Artist. All supplies are provided.

Each child will have an arts and craft project to bring home. A $5 registration fee is required per child, thanks to sponsorships, donations and volunteers for the WHAM Kids Art Programs.
