Sun City West Republican Club slates next meeting, speakers

The Sun City West Republican Club will meet Saturday, Aug. 3, at Church on the Green, 19051 R.H. Johnson Blvd.

Social time is at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and donuts available, and the meeting starts at 9 a.m. (Doors open at 8 a.m.) Paid-up members are admitted without a donation; $3 will be accepted at the door from non-members, which helps to pay for the room rental.

The meeting will recap the July 30 primary and provide education for the ballot initiative that will be on the November general election ballot including ranked-choice voting and abortion rights. The main speaker will be Kathleen Liles, regional director with the Arizona Free Enterprise Club, third vice chair of LD 10 and a precinct committeewoman.

There will be an additional speaker giving a 15 minute presentation on the “what, why, and how much” of the Central AZ Water Project. Speaker will be Lisa Atkins, a current board member, who will bring everyone up to speed on the functions of the board. This taxing body will be on the November ballot.

All Republicans and Independents from the Sun Cities and surrounding areas are welcome to attend.
