Richard Railey Miles

Richard, age 79, died Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Richard was born April 15, 1945, in Miami, Florida to Richard Smith Miles and Sarah Elizabeth Railey. He received his bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Florida and his MBA from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. He worked in the nuclear power industry for 44 years.
Richard loved music and played classical piano in his youth. He was an avid reader with a wide range of interests and could answer many questions anyone might have. His family told him he should go on Jeopardy because of his vast knowledge. He liked to travel and keep up with Florida Gator sports, but his passion was Republican politics.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his first wife Karen Miles, the mother of his son, Karl Miles (CA), and daughter, Jennifer Miles (FL), and his sister, Cindy Tripp (TX). He later married Glenda Silvia Miles whose children, Erika Bear (CA) and Justin Epting (TN,) he thought of as his own. He also leaves behind one granddaughter, Angela Stadelman Miles, and two dearly loved step grandchildren, Erikson Kearton and Ella Kearton.
A celebration of life will be held at Desert Palms Presbyterian Church, 13459 W. Stardust Blvd, Sun City West, AZ 85375, on Saturday, August 3rd at 10:00 a.m. (MST). The service will be live streamed. To join the live stream, log into
