Herbert Konrad Schreck

Posted
Herbert Konrad Schreck Oct 26, 1930 to July 19, 2024 Herbert (or Herb as most knew him) lived a life filled with lots of family and friends. He enjoyed being around other people in any setting and always brought a fun positive attitude with him. He could tell a story with the best of them, and always seemed to have a story to tell. His love for friends and fun was only surpassed by his love for his bride of 65 years, Rosa, who passed away in 2020. Herb was born in small farming village in Germany in 1930 where he grew up with three brothers and one sister. As a young man in Germany, he trained as a forester and eventually applied this knowledge to work as a lumberjack in the rugged forests of Northern Ontario, Canada in the early 1950s. There, he was joined by Rosa, who was also from the same village in Germany. They were married in Canada in 1954. In the early 1960s, Herb and Rosa emigrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to be closer to family who had also emigrated from Germany. They built their life there until 1986, when they moved again to Sun City, Arizona, where they lived until their passing. Besides being a forester, Herb was also an insurance salesman in Canada, and a very successful real estate agent in both Milwaukee and Sun City, a career which he continued until his retirement. Herb was an avid golfer and an active part of many German-American clubs and the Sun City Men’s Group. He is survived by his daughter Ursula, son David, daughter-in-law Karen, and 2 grandchildren, Ava and Lara. There will be a memorial service followed by a reception at 1pm on Friday, August 2nd at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 N Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351. (623-933-0161)
