Copeland: Appalled over National Voter Registration Act

Posted

I was appalled to read in the Aug. 20 Daily Independent that “There are currently more than 41,000 Arizonans who registered to vote using a form authorized by the National Voter Registration Act. That form does not require proof of citizenship but only an avowal, under penalty of perjury, the individual is qualified to cast a ballot.” (Biden administration asks U.S. Supreme Court to uphold National Voter Registration Act over 2022 state law, Page 8).

Why would anyone in this country favor not having voters show proof of citizenship unless they think some are here illegally and want them to vote for their party? Is there no way to check these 41,000 registered voters to see (1) if they have a U.S. birth certificate or (2) if a naturalized citizen if they have naturalization paperwork? Anyone found to be a liar and an illegal immigrant, should be immediately arrested, jailed and sent to prison.

Is anyone checking to see if these 41,000 avowed citizens are telling the truth?
