To increase exposure of their members’ businesses, there will be a drive-thru business expo for the community with free donuts and coffee as well as swag bags filled with information and resources from the alliance member businesses. The event will take place 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, March 22 at Briarwood Country Club, 20800 N. 135th Avenue, Sun City West.
The blood drive will be conducted inside the main ballroom while the expo will take place outside the entrance.
“We are so excited to continue our relationship with the ABCs in supporting our community’s blood needs,” said Greg Wieking, Vitalant Blood Services senior donor recruitment representative. “The Alliance of Business and Community, in partnership with Vitalant and Briarwood Country Club, conducted its first blood drive in June of 2020 and this will be their fifth blood drive. Together, we collected 256 units of blood benefiting 768 lives here in the Valley.”
The Sun City West Alliance of Business and Community supports a local charity at all its blood drives. The proceeds from this event will support local non-profit Stella’s Wish Foundation, which grant wishes for adults 18 and older with stage 4 cancer. To date, the foundation granted 210 wishes since 2008.
Stella’s Wish will accept cash donations as well as signing people up for their inaugural fundraising golf tournament 1 p.m. Monday, May 10 at Briarwood Country Club. The cost is $125 per person and hole sponsors are $100. To sign up for the tournament and pay online visit stellaswish.org or call 314-938-9474.
The purpose of the Sun City west Alliance of Business and Community is to promote the business and service organizations of Sun City West. The agency provides professional development and training opportunities for local business leaders through networking sessions and by incorporating selected classes offered by business educators or faculty from local colleges, universities or the private sector. It also sponsors community events wherein contributions received will be distributed to local charities serving Sun City West residents.
