Town accepting young artists' submissions for Green Gilbert contest

Posted

The town of Gilbert is asking artists in junior high or high school to grab their art supplies and get creative as the Green Gilbert Artwork Contest is accepting submissions through Nov. 15.

The Green Gilbert Business Partnership program is searching for new, original art designs that promote sustainability and “green” practices in the community.

Every artist’s work should be inspired by a provided slogan in one of four categories: wastewater, trash and recycling, water conservation, and environmental compliance.

The winning images will be displayed on trash and recycling trucks across Gilbert. In addition, winners in first, second and third place will receive Amazon gift cards worth up to $50.

Contest eligibility and guidelines

  • Students must attend a junior high or high school in Gilbert;
  • Artwork can be submitted in any medium (minimum 8.5x11” in size, or high-resolution photograph);
  • All artwork must be horizontal and use bright, bold colors;
  • The entire slogan should be incorporated into the artwork;
  • Artwork must be submitted with the contest form along with a signed release form.

 Submissions are due Nov. 15.

To view the provided slogans, download and view the Green Gilbert Artwork Contest form. Complete the bottom of the form and return it along with the signed release form to recycle@gilbertaz.gov.

Submissions can also be mailed to:
