Three indictments were announced Tuesday against Gilbert area teens in connection with an alleged assault at a town parking garage on Dec. 3, 2022, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

The indictments announced by the county’s attorney’s office included:

  • Gage Garrison, 19: one count of aggravated assault, a class 6 felony;
  • Kyler Matthew Renner, 19: one count of aggravated assault, a class 6 felony;
  • Jack Jay Woods, 17: one count of aggravated assault, a class 3 felony; and one count of aggravated assault, a class 6 felony.

Gilbert police made the arrests Jan. 24.

In the incident, an adult victim reported to police he was assaulted by a group in a parking garage near 72 W. Vaughn Ave., police said.

That case was inactivated because of a lack of investigative leads until December 2023, when the Gilbert Police Department received a video of the alleged assault, police said. Photos of the assault were shared with the public on Jan. 11.
