Sun City bowler honored for fundraising

Rolls for therapy programs

Sun City resident Bruce Lamb makes his bowling game count at the Recreation Centers of Sun City.

His total July 8 added up to $15,000 raised to support veteran therapy programs. That’s almost 40% of the total $40,000 raised by the Metro Phoenix United States Bowling Congress in support of Bowlers for Veterans.

Lamb, a Recreation Centers of Sun City member, was honored by the organization for his efforts.

Bowling for Veterans is the oldest charitable organization bowlers are proud to support. More than $53 million has been raised since 1942.

“Thank you, Bruce, for showing the camaraderie of our bowling community, and for the difference you’re making in the lives of people who gave so much for our freedoms,” said Mike Dirmyer, RCSC bowling director.

The mission of the national fundraiser is to ensure veterans receive the best health care and support. Bowlers took delight celebrating the big impact the funds raised will make.

Lamb will be at it again at Bell and Lakeview lanes in November for those interested in donating.
