The death of a 39-year-old man who died June 10 in a collision on Interstate 10 near 7th Avenue was a homicide, Phoenix police said Thursday.

Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers responded to the collision and found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.

Phoenix police took over the investigation, and the Office of the Medical Examiner took custody of the victim’s body.

Tolano was driving a gray 2009 Ford Escape.

Anyone who may have been traveling in the area and who has a vehicle with an on-car surveillance camera or may have seen anything, is asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department, the release stated.

Also, contact Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest, police said.
