The Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix, Arizona’s longest-standing, continuously performing choral arts organization, continues its 89th season by presenting "Holidays with Orpheus" with a series of four concerts:

• Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. at American Lutheran Church, 17200 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City

• Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Velda Rose United Methodist Church, 5540 E. Main St., Mesa

• Sunday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. at Camelback Bible Church, 3900 E. Stanford Dr., Paradise Valley (SOLD OUT)

• Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Dayspring United Methodist Church, 1365 E. Elliot Rd., Tempe

During this year’s "Holidays with Orpheus" concerts, the chorus will offer arrangements of "Irving Berlin’s Christmas" featuring five of his compositions, classic carols like "Deck the Hall" and "The First Noel" and fun with "You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch." Plan on joining in with an audience sing-along featuring everyone’s favorite holiday tunes.

The Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix made its debut on Christmas morning 1929 on KTAR-AM and has delighted audiences in venues large and small throughout Arizona and beyond with a diverse mix of classical and popular music. Throughout its rich 88-year history, Orpheus has gained international acclaim on tours throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The chorus has also toured in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, been featured in radio and TV broadcasts, and has sung the National Anthem at professional sporting events and for dignitaries, including John F. Kennedy.

The group has excelled under the baton of Dr. Brook Carter Larson. Prior to becoming Artistic Director for Orpheus, "Doc" taught Choral Music Education classes at Arizona State University, where he also founded the Sun Devil Singers and the ASU Men’s Chorus.
