For many this holiday season, stockings are the only gift they need.
For homeless and at-risk youth, socks are what they desire the most and lack the funds to buy. They're the most requested clothing donation item.
To help mitigate the issue, the University of Advancing Technology is gathering socks for the Children First Leadership Academy and the Arizona Anti-Trafficking Network.
Have you ever considered that for many this Christmas, the stocking IS the gift? For homeless and at-risk kids, this is often the norm, because socks are a big need for those who lack the funds for daily comforts.
Anyone interested in donating can drop off socks at UAT, located at 2625 West Baseline Road in Tempe, between now and Dec. 15. They can also be mailed in with a note to Socks for Santa.
