Florence: Peggy McMahon cares about the future of this town

Posted

The last election for Fountain Hills Town Council was damaging to our community.

In spite of our respected tradition of running non-partisan elections, we saw candidates campaigning as a slate of political partisans. A PAC also bombarded the community with negative orange signs. It was hateful and divisive. I hope we never have to see that ugly negativity again in our beautiful little town.

In July, we are going to have another local election, and I hope each candidate runs as an individual, no groupthink, please! Keep it positive, non-partisan and focused on Fountain Hills concerns rather than national issues. Experience matters, and I will give my votes only to those who have a real record of positive participation in this community.

Peggy McMahon is one of those candidates. For 23 years she has been an active volunteer in the community, and since 2021 she has demonstrated excellent leadership skills on the Town Council.  It is clear to me that she cares deeply about the needs of our residents and about the future of this town. She has proven her ability to collaborate with others in a positive and productive manner; she gets good things done.

It is obvious that Peggy takes the time to do research because she comes to council meetings prepared to have intelligent discussion and make reasonable decisions. Members new to the council will be able to benefit from her knowledge and experience. Check her website to learn more about her qualifications and call or email her with your questions. She is a true representative of Fountain Hills, and we should keep her.
