Bellevue Heights Church, 9440 W. Hutton Drive, will ordain Randy Shumate into pastoral ministry during a 5 p.m. Saturday, April 30, Service of Ordination in the worship center.
Shumate has served Bellevue Heights in Sun City as contemporary worship leader for the 5 p.m. Saturday worship gathering since January, 2017.
Born and raised in Arizona, Shumate is married to Jessica Chaney Shumate, and they enjoy two children, six-year-old Noah and Leah, who is four. The family makes their home in Peoria.
Shumate is full-time at BHC effective May 1 and will be associate pastor, overseeing various ministries including audio visual activities, women’s ministry, greeters and volunteers, singles and property and grounds. He will continue to serve as contemporary worship pastor for the Saturday evening worship gathering.
The ordination coincides with the completion of a Bachelor of Arts degree from Visible Music College. Shumate will pursue a Master of Arts in Christian leadership from Duke Divinity School.
