30th annual fall celebration coming to downtown Glendale

The Front Porch Festival & Old Towne Marketplace features all-day activities

Posted

Celebrate the fall season in Historic Downtown Glendale this month.

The 30th annual Front Porch Festival & Old Towne Marketplace will feature many shops and eateries throughout the Historic Catlin Court and Old Towne Entertainment Districts with fall-themed activities planned for the day. It goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.

The day will include themed make and take crafts, seasonal flavored menu items, specialty tea experiences, and autumn-inspired gifts and décor. Also, experienced artisans, emerging makers, and specialty crafters will have displays and live art demonstrations throughout the area.

“This treasured event began three decades ago when my mother-in-law, Linda Burner, wanted to start an annual tradition to welcome visitors to the area to explore the downtown and meet the business owners,” Valerie Burner, event chairperson and Bears & More owner, shared in a press release.

Begin at the Arizona Information Center located at Memory Lane Trinkets and Treasures, at 5836 W. Palmaire Ave., to pick up the activity list and event map. The first 100 guests will receive a free event sticker as part of the monthly special event sticker series program.

The Front Porch Festival & Old Towne Marketplace is sponsored by the Historic Downtown Glendale Merchants Association in partnership with the Historic Downtown business community.
