3 local shows coming up for Desert Aires Barbershop Chorus

Posted

The Desert Aires Barbershop Chorus, the Northwest Valley’s own as well as the Arizona A-Plateau champions for multiple years, has opened its 2017-2018 entertainment season. Its next three performances will be its annual Christmas show.

At 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6 they will sing at the Palmbrook Country Club, 9350 W. Greenway Road, Sun City, for the Blease Financial Services Christmas luncheon honoring Don Tuffs on his retirement. That same day, at 2:30 p.m., they will also perform for The Montecito Retirement Community in Peoria, at 17271 N. 87th Ave.

Then at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11 their final performance of this popular show will take place at The Madison Retirement Community in Sun City West at 18626 Spanish Garden Drive.

The Desert Aires has been performing throughout the Northwest Valley for well over 30 years, and is particularly well-known for its annual big shows, each of which has a different theme with appropriate costuming. This year that extravaganza will be entitled "Those Were The Days (My Friend), We Thought They’d Never End."

As in the past, that show will be held at the Sundial Auditorium in Sun City on Sunday, Feb. 25.
