The Workshop Pilates opens third location

Posted

The Workshop Pilates opened it’s third location in the new Arcadia Improvement Club, 3802 E. Indian School Road.
The Workshop’s Arcadia location will be home to Infrared Heated Mat Pilates class, featuring a detoxifying 95-degree workout, warmed by infrared heat to improve flexibility and cardiovascular conditioning, according to a press release.

“We saw the need for an Infrared Heated Mat Pilates concept in the Valley and we knew The Workshop was the perfect studio to bring the burn,” Ariel Schwartz, co-owner of The Workshop Pilates, said in the release. “Heated fitness has so many benefits to the body and mind, including boosted immunity, detoxification, pain relief and reduced blood pressure. We have no doubt that the Arcadia community will love it just as much as we do.”

The new studio is a proud tenant of the historic building previously occupied by Madison Improvement Club, which closed its doors in August 2023. The Workshop will carry on the fitness tradition in the newly-named Arcadia Improvement Club. The 5,264 square-foot space will additionally feature space for an esthetician practice and a fresh-made juice bar.
Built in 1917, the historic location was once a fundamental meeting space for pioneer women to discuss politics, agriculture, education, music and art. In 2012, The Madison Improvement Club opened a community for fitness enthusiasts, spin lovers and yogis after its initial refurbishment. The building is an Arcadia institution that the community holds dear, making the re-opening of the restored space a significant milestone.

“We know fitness is at the core of this historic space, and we can’t wait to bring The Workshop’s Pilates principles to Arcadia,” said Jackie Parks, co-owner of The Workshop Pilates, said in the release. “We believe in the power of Pilates to transform lives. We look forward to strengthening bodies and our community bonds in this tight-knit neighborhood.”

In addition to Infrared Heated Mat Pilates, The Workshop Pilates Arcadia will feature different types of Pilates for all levels, including:

• Move: Work through all planes of movement with various different equipment pieces and props. Class is finished with The Workshop’s signature stretch series.
• Circuit: a full-body workout from station-to-station on different pieces of Pilates equipment. BOSU balls, resistance bands and weights intensify the workout.
• Elevate: Amp up your Pilates incorporates the jumpboard, high-intensity interval training and cardio exercises.
• Melt: Gently wake up and lengthen muscles as The Workshop’s expert instructors walk you through yoga flows and deep stretches on the reformer.

The Workshop Pilates is locally-owned and operated by entrepreneurs Jackie Parks and Ariel Schwartz, opening its first location in McCormick Ranch in 2020 and its second location in North Scottsdale in 2023. In that time, The Workshop has quickly become a top fitness studio amongst Valley residents and Pilates enthusiasts.
