Scottsdale Charros, a local nonprofit group of business and civic leaders that raises money for causes in youth sports and education, has commissioned an official Arizona license plate to raise money for education programs.
The Charro Foundation, a nonprofit that provides scholarships, educational programming, youth activities and more to the Scottsdale community commissioned the plate.
“This plate is designed for anyone interested in supporting education and anyone who just loves the clean gray and black design,” said Scottsdale Charro and Charro Foundation member Jason Klonoski.
The license plate features a gray and black design of the Arizona flag with “Supporting Arizona Education” as a tagline. The plate has a $25 initial application fee and a $25 annual renewal fee. The Charro Foundation will receive $17 dollars from each plate sold. Funds will be donated directly to Scottsdale education programs, with room for more areas if popularity grows.
“The Scottsdale Charros have a long history of supporting schools in Scottsdale because we believe education is the foundation of our community, said Scottsdale Charros Executive Director Dennis Robbins. “We are always innovating and finding new ways to raise money — from Spring Training baseball to our tax credit charity program to this latest initiative with the license plate.”
