Students released early after A/C outage at Queen Creek High

Posted

An air-conditioning outage has sent Queen Creek High School students home early for the day.

The outage on Thursday affected the main building. Temporary chillers were being sent to the school “and we anticipate that school will resume normal operations tomorrow,” said Queen Creek Unified School District spokeswoman Amanda deNight.

The students were released from the school at 22149 E. Ocotillo Road at around 9:45 a.m.

In an email sent to parents, QCHS Principal Scott Lovely stated that students who could not be picked up early would be moved to the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center “where the air is currently working.”

Parents and guardians will be able to collect their children at QCPAC throughout the day, the email continued.

“Technicians are currently on site. The safety of our students remains our top priority,” Lovely stated in the email.
