Queen Creek’s outreach efforts earn awards

Posted

The town of Queen Creek’s marketing and communications efforts recently were honored with two awards at the Public Relations Society of America Phoenix annual awards ceremony and the City-County Communications & Marketing Association’s annual SAVVY Awards.

Both the town’s “Hay QC” campaign and the outreach efforts conducted in support of the Law Enforcement Study received Awards of Merit from PRSA.

The Copper Anvil Awards recognize outstanding public relations tactics and campaigns that reflect the highest standards of performance in public relations throughout the state.

The Hay QC campaign started in 2020. It is a free fall activity for businesses and the community. Businesses sign up to host a hay bale, decorate it and display it outside throughout the month of October. Hay QC took place again this year.

Earlier this fall, Queen Creek’s recycling event, including the new “fast pass” feature, was awarded the Award of Excellence from 3CMA. The SAVVY Awards recognize outstanding government achievements in communications, public-sector marketing and citizen-government relationships throughout the nation.

“Keeping our residents and businesses informed and engaged is a top priority in our community,” stated Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney in a press release. “With so many important programs taking place in Queen Creek, particularly starting our new police department, it’s vital that community members stay informed.”
