Suspect dies Sunday after officer-involved shooting: Phoenix PD
(City of Phoenix)

INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
A man died at a hospital Sunday after he was shot during a confrontation with two Phoenix police officers, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 1:50 p.m. June 2 near 13th Street and Palm Lane, police said.
A two-person patrol unit went to the area after a report came in to police that there was a man with a gun. Officers received additional information that the armed man was attempting to rob victims of their motorcycle.
Officers found a man on a motorcycle stopped in an alley and pulled in.
“As they started to get out of their patrol vehicle the man raised the handgun towards officers and that was when the officer-involved shooting occurred,” police stated in a release.
After the shooting, the suspect dropped the gun, and officers provided medical aid, police said.
He was taken by fire department personnel to a hospital where he died.
The robbery victims were not hurt, and neither officer was injured, police said.
