A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting this month that left one dead and another with critical injuries, Phoenix police said.
Marquea Cato, the suspect in the shooting, was found Sept. 18 near 1600 North 40th Street and was taken into custody without incident, police said.
At about 8 a.m. Sept. 1, officers were called to the 3900 block of East Thomas Road regarding two men who were shot. Officers arrived and discovered Alan David Whitworth, 48, and a 19-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Whitworth was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other victim was taken to a hospital.
