Experience swing music in an interactive way this weekend in Phoenix.

“Celebrate Swing” at the Musical Instrument Museum is open to families, music lovers, and dancers of all ages. The event goes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5-6, at MIM, at 4725 E. Mayo Blvd.

Event Highlights:

Scavenger Hunt: Legendary Swing Instruments: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Explore MIM’s galleries in search of swing treasures. This scavenger hunt is a way to discover iconic instruments used throughout the genre's history.

Curator Talk: Sentimental Journey: 10:30-11 a.m.

Dive into the history of swing music with a discussion about the legendary instruments on display at MIM.

Workshop: Swing Dance: 1:15-2 p.m.

Learn popular swing dance moves with the Arizona Lindy Hop Society.

Performance: The Sugar Thieves: 2:15-2:45 p.m.

A rockabilly performance from the award-winning band The Sugar Thieves.
