Man dies after vehicle crashes into block wall: Phoenix police

A 24-year-old man died July 4 after the car he was driving crashed into a block wall near 16th Stret and Campo Bello Drive, Phoenix police said.
Officers arrived at the collision scene just before 6:30 a.m. Thursday where they found Samuel Martinez unconscious inside the vehicle.
He was taken to a hospital where he died.
There was also a report of a gas leak that was closed off a short time later, police said.
Preliminary information suggests Martinez was possibly impaired when the vehicle went off the road and crashed, detectives said in a release. The case remains active as evidence is processed and a post-mortem exam is conducted.
