A collision that occurred Friday night that left a man dead is being investigated by Phoenix Police Department detectives.
At about 8:20 p.m. Sept. 20, officers responded to Cave Creek and Mountain View roads after receiving a call about a single-vehicle collision that also involved a pedestrian, police said.
When officers arrived, they found the man who was the driver of the vehicle with serious injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
The woman pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
Preliminary information suggests that the vehicle involved was northbound on Cave Creek Road when it lost control and exited the road, striking the pedestrian and nearby parked cars, police said.
