A 21-year-old woman died early Sunday morning in a collision that injured adults and children near 79th Avenue and Buckeye Road, Phoenix police said.
The crash occurred just after 4:15 a.m. March 10. Officers arrived to find two vehicles involved – a car with a man and woman inside and a pickup truck with two adults and two children.
The woman in the car, Tsinhahjinnie Ahwanvhutkie, died at the scene, and the man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The four people in the truck were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Phoenix police detectives said preliminary information suggests the pickup truck was heading north on 79th Avenue when it failed to stop for the stop sign at Lower Buckeye Road and collided with the passenger vehicle that was heading east on Lower Buckeye Road.
“The investigation remains active as detectives continue to process the evidence and submit items for laboratory analysis,” officials stated in a release.
