A 38-year-old man is dead after the vehicle he was driving rolled over Friday afternoon, and police said they suspect speeding was a factor.

The crash occurred just after 4:45 p.m. May 3 near 23rd Avenue and Roeser Road where officers found a vehicle on its roof, off the road and next to a wall.

Two men were on the ground next to the vehicle. Witnesses told officers a third man got out of the vehicle and ran away, police said.

Terrell Guerra, 38, died at the scene, and the other man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said, adding he was stabilized once at the hospital.

Preliminary information suggests Guerra was the driver of the vehicle and was seen driving at a high rate of speed when the vehicle hit a curb, lost a wheel and rolled over before crashing into a block wall, according to detectives.

The case remains active.
