The Ahsan Center for Excellence in the Creative and Performing Arts is a new 24,000 square foot facility set to open in January 2026.
The Ahsan Center is designed to be a focal point for creative and performing arts, including a 600-seat performance hall, a costume lab, and dedicated spaces for students to cultivate their artistic abilities.
The Ahsan Center will encompass a variety of artistic disciplines, such as theater, music, dance, and visual arts, offering students numerous opportunities to explore and refine their skills in a collaborative setting.
The Ahsan Center aims to strengthen Phoenix Country Day School's dedication to promoting creativity and artistic expression throughout its Pre-K through Grade 12 curriculum, as stated in a news release.
The center will feature advanced facilities for theater production, allowing students to gain practical experience in lighting and sound during performances and rehearsals in the new theater.
Additionally, the Ahsan Center will provide a versatile space for various artistic activities, including workshops, rehearsals, and community events.
The project has garnered substantial support from a diverse group of donors, including current parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends, who collectively contributed $22.5 million for the center.
