Crowley: Anna Thomasson will protect our town

Posted

My husband Dan and I have lived in the town for over 40 years, and we have watched many mayors serve Paradise Valley. We will be voting for Anna Thomasson for our next mayor because she is a leader who cares about protecting our town.

We first noticed Anna’s hard work as a member of the town’s Historical Advisory Committee, reviewing applications for the historic property recognition program. She came to our house and spent time looking at our historic home and appreciating our views and commitment to keeping the original home with its low ceiling, open floor plan and integrated indoor/outdoor living spaces.

Later we noticed that she came to every town event, including the Public Safety Fair and Annual Veterans Day Car Show while my husband, Dan, was working as a police volunteer. Anna would come early, talk to all the volunteers, making sure they felt appreciated, and not leave until many hours later. It was clear she was not there just to be seen, but rather to support all the volunteers.

She regularly walks all over town and whenever we have questions, she is approachable, listens carefully and responds to our concerns, not to what she thinks we want to hear. She genuinely listens.

We have also observed that she is always pleasant and kind, works with others and doesn’t seek the spotlight for her service. She knows that things only happen in this town when we all work together – council, staff and volunteers. She supports the council decisions without calling attention to herself.

I hope you will join Dan and I in voting for Anna Thomasson for our next mayor. We think she is the right leader for our town.
