Glendale will unveil ball fields at Heroes Park

The city of Glendale will mark the next step in the development of Glendale Heroes Regional Park during the groundbreaking for the new multi-use fields at 9 a.m. Friday, May 17 at Heroes Regional Park, 6101 N. 83rd Ave., Glendale.
Glendale will reveal plans for this latest evolution, which will include two natural-turf, lighted multi-use fields, one synthetic turf field that will be the first of its type in the city, along with eight pickleball courts, as well as ramadas, a lighted mini-pitch area, dog park and other amenities for recreation.
These enhancements will build on elements of the park already complete, including an urban fishing lake and an expansive, modern library. Glendale Heroes Regional Park, when completed, will be an 81-acre park.
Some of the dignitaries present will be Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers, council member Joyce Clark, who represents the Yucca District where the park is, Glendale Parks and Recreation Department officials as well as Willmeng Construction team members.
