Abrazo Health offers affordable heart, stroke risk screenings this fall

Abrazo Health announced a series of low-cost AngioScreen heart and stroke risk screenings that will be held at multiple locations throughout the Valley during October and November.

The screenings can identify potential artery blockages and other heart health issues, a press release stated. AngioScreen exams take only about 10 minutes and assess the circulatory system in neck and ankle arteries, heart rhythm, blood pressure and fitness.

The cost for the screening is $59, and it includes:

  • Quick Carotid Ultrasound to check pressure and look for blockage;
  • Simple EKG exam for atrial fibrillation;
  • Extremity circulation check for peripheral vascular disease;
  • Blood pressure check for hypertension and
  • Private consultation with a clinician.

Abrazo Health Outreach Manager Cindy Roberts said in the release that potential artery blockages, atrial fibrillation and dangerously high blood pressure have been found in individuals during previous screening events

“Every 30 seconds an American has a heart attack. Isn’t 10 minutes worth your time to see if you are at risk?” Roberts said.

AngioScreen information can be used by participants to share with their doctor and should not replace regular examinations and consultations with their personal physician, noted Roberts.

To register for one of Abrazo’s AngioScreen events, call 844-721-4068 or visit AbrazoHealth.com/events.
