Salt & Straw, a Portland-based ice cream maker renowned for its innovative flavors, will open its doors in the summer of 2024 at the Epicenter at Agritopia development at 3150 E. Ray Road, Gilbert.
Salt & Straw's opening will put Epicenter at being 100% leased.
Salt & Straw puts together partnerships with local farms and food artisans.
"We are very excited to welcome Salt & Straw to the Epicenter family," Johnston & Co. CEO William Johnston said in a release. “In addition to making some of the most elevated ice cream in the country, Salt & Straw is a beacon of community and creativity, which aligns perfectly with the spirit of Epicenter.
"Their dedication to crafting unique, locally-inspired flavors with a great story not only elevates our culinary landscape, but also reinforces our dedication to creating spaces where people can come together and enjoy the simple pleasures in life."
Salt & Straw's arrival at Epicenter is a culmination of years of searching for the right location in Phoenix by co-founders Kim and Tyler Malek.
"We’ve been looking for the perfect place in Phoenix for over five years, and finally found it in Epicenter at Agritopia — a community that pioneered the farm-to-table movement and is rooted so deeply in building a gathering space centered on connection,” Kim Malek said in the release. “This felt serendipitous to us, and we can’t wait to join the neighborhood.”
In addition to its classic flavors, Salt & Straw will also bring a monthly rotating flavor menu to its Gilbert location.
