Verdes church announces retirement of pastor

The Board of Trustees for the Community Church of the Verdes has announced the retirement of Pastor, Rev. Dr. Cathy Northrup.

The board sent a message to members:

“After 13 years of devoted and Spirit-filled leadership, Pastor Cathy Northrup has announced her intention to retire on Sept. 1, 2025,” the message from Board of Trustees President Karla Lalim said.

“We are deeply grateful for her advance notice, which gives us ample time to prepare for this important transition. As we navigate the emotions that accompany this news, we trust in God’s guidance for both Pastor Cathy and our community.

“Please join us in praying for our entire church family during this period of transition. The board will keep you informed about the steps we will be taking as we approach the new year. We eagerly anticipate celebrating Pastor Cathy’s outstanding service in the coming months with sincere gratitude.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees and staff, we extend our heartfelt wishes for a richly blessed retirement to Pastor Cathy, who has greatly blessed our congregation through her leadership and service.”
