Fountain Hills: Sheriff's call log

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 7 substation based in Fountain Hills is reporting that deputies responded to the following calls during the week from Thursday, May 9, through Wednesday, May 15.

Thursday, May 9

*A resident of the 13000 block of Northstar Drive reported that an unknown subject defrauded the victim out of approximately $15,000 as part of a telephone scam.

*Deputies made a traffic stop at Saguaro Boulevard and Ledferd Lane. A driver was stopped for speeding, travelling 51 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35. A check of records during the stop revealed the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. The driver was issued a criminal citation and released.

*Deputies made a traffic stop on Shea Boulevard at Arista Lane. A driver was stopped for criminal speed, traveling 77 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. The driver was issued a criminal citation and released.

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd. where it was reported that a subject attempted to shoplift items from a business.

*A resident of the 13000 block of Ryan Way reported that an unknown subject defrauded the victim out of approximately $300 as part of a telephone scam.

Saturday, May 11

*Deputies made a traffic stop on Shea Boulevard at 142nd Street where a motorist was reported traveling 76 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. A check of records during the stop revealed the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. The driver was issued a criminal citation and released.

*Deputies made a traffic stop on Shea Boulevard at Arista Lane. A driver was stopped for criminal speed, traveling 87 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. The driver was issued a criminal citation and released.

Sunday, May 12

*A resident of the 16000 block of Carmel Drive reported that a subject broke into a family member’s residence and took items without permission.

*Deputies responded to Palisades Boulevard and Valley Vista Drive where a traffic collision occurred after a vehicle had a mechanical failure and rolled down a hill causing it to strike a boulder in the center median of the roadway. No injuries were reported,  and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Monday, May 13

*A resident of the 17000 block of Via Del Oro reported that an unknown subject defrauded the victim out of approximately $1,000 as part of a telephone scam.

*Deputies responded to the 17000 block of Shea Blvd. where a subject was contacted in reference to a call for service. A records check revealed the subject had several outstanding warrants. The subject was booked into jail on the warrants.

*Deputies responded to the 17000 block of Shea Blvd. where it was reported that several subjects were fighting in the parking lot of a business.

Tuesday, May 14

*Deputies made a traffic stop on Shea Boulevard and 142nd Street. A driver was stopped for criminal speed traveling 90 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. The driver was issued a criminal citation and released.

*A resident of the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd. reported that an unknown subject took property from a residence.

Wednesday, May 15

*A resident of the 15000 block of E. Montgomery Road reported that an unknown subject used the victim’s Social Security number without permission to attempt to gain employment.

*Deputies made a traffic stop on Shea Boulevard at Palatial Drive where a driver was stopped for traveling 104 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. The driver was issued a criminal citation and released.

*Deputies made a traffic stop on Shea Boulevard at Arista Lane. A driver was stopped for criminal speed traveling 76 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. The driver was issued a criminal citation and released.

*Deputies responded to the 12000 block of Falcon Drive where it was reported that an unknown subject damaged the block wall of a business.
