As part of National Cybersecurity Month in October, Fountain View Village Senior Living Community in Fountain Hills, is hosting a fraud prevention seminar.
The event, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, will feature Tiffany Lam, Community Affairs Liaison with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. The seminar will be held at Fountain View Village, 16455 Avenue of the Fountains,
The event will focus on educating seniors about how to recognize and avoid scams. Arizona ranks sixth in the nation for fraud losses, with seniors losing nearly $128 million in 2023.
Lam will offer five “red flags” seniors should be aware of including unexpected results, too good to be true or scare tactics, urgent demands, untraceable payments and suspicious communication details.
