New safety rules for Florence landfill

All visitors to Republic Services' Central Arizona Transfer Station will soon have to wear hard hats and safety vests.

The new rules go into effect Aug. 12.

Visitors can bring their own hard hats and safety vests, which can be purchased at any local hardware store.

Alternatively, the safety gear can be purchased at the transfer station. The station will charge $4.25 for hard hats and $4.50 for safety vests. Only credit cards will be accepted.

Republic’s transfer station is located at 5452 E. Hunt Highway. It is open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. The station is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. For more information on the changes, call 602-237-2078.
