Chandler taekwondo studio to host open house

Arizona Taekwondo, a studio in Chandler, recently had three of the studio’s teen students earn spots on national teams.

The studio is celebrating its 10th anniversary with an open house on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Grand master Hyunh Christopher Kim looks forward to helping display the studio’s legacy of setting and inspiring more athletes to achieve their dreams.

Registration for Saturday’s event can be found here.

Competing in events with thousands of participants, Arizona Taekwondo students have excelled through the support of their studio and instructor / studio owner, grand master Kim.

Kaden Stovall-Diaz clinched Gold at the recent U.S. Open, the West Grand Prix and the USAT Nationals, competing against in a field of more than 2,000 international athletes from around the world. His aspirations include the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Despite challenges posed by brachymetatarsia, a medical condition affecting her feet, Grace Ha-Eun Kim took gold at the 2024 AAU Nationals this, improving on bronze in 2023.

In 2022, Grace won gold at the 22nd Korean American National Sports Festival, bringing home what a news release states is the “first gold medal for Arizona for the event across all sports.”

Daneau Kim, the youngest son of a taekwondo master, carried on his family’s legacy by also earning a spot on a national team this year.

Originally opened in 2014 by grand master Kim to provide opportunities for his sons and close friends, over the past decade, the studio has always aimed to embody the five tenets of taekwondo: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.
