March was National Red Cross Month.

Natalie Bowers, a vice president at BMO Commercial Bank and a member of the board of directors American Red Cross of Central and Northern Arizona. Bowers spoke after Chandler Vice Mayor O.D. Harris and Mayor Kevin Hartke presented a proclamation at a March 18 Chandler City Council study session, praising the work of the Red Cross over the past century.

Bowers said before she got involved, she had “no idea there were so many ways of alleviating human suffering” set in motion by the Red Cross.
