Sundance Park Phase Two Grand Opening

Buckeye’s Community Services Department welcomes residents and guests to the Sundance Park Phase Two Grand Opening September 15 - 17, 2023.
The expansion features a three-acre fishing lake, grand pavilion, splash pad, lighted basketball courts, multi-use sports fields and additional playgrounds, ramadas and restrooms.
This three-day grand opening is filled with family-friendly activities. The festivities commence Friday, September 15, with the ribbon cutting ceremony, the highly anticipated activation of our splash pad all followed by 15-minute firework display that will light up the night sky.
Saturday, September 16, participate in a fishing derby, witness the spirited competition of the Buckeye Fire and Police kickball tournament and a night of camping under the stars, complete with an array of games and fun for the entire family.
The city will close the grand opening weekend off Sunday, September 17, with a farmers market and pancake breakfast organized by the United Buckeye Firefighters Charities. The schedule of events is as follows:
Friday, September 15:
5:30 p.m. - Ribbon Cutting
6 p.m. - Activation of the splash pad
6:10 p.m. - Concert in the Park, The Fabulous Keen Brothers
7:30 p.m. - Fireworks, presented by Willmeng
Saturday, September 16:
7 a.m. - Fishing derby
Noon - Splash pad party
4 p.m. - Fire vs. Police kickball competition
5 p.m. - Family Camping
7 p.m. - Family campout activities
7 p.m. - Movie in the Park, Spiderman: No Way Home
Sunday, September 17:
8 a.m. - Farmers market
8 a.m. - Pancake breakfast (limited availability)
This new community space was designed by J2 Engineering and Environmental Design and the construction on the park was completed by Willmeng Construction.
